3 highly nutritional Superfoods worth eating

Staying healthy through exercise is great and the food you eat plays an important part in your healthy living regime so I wanted to share 3 highly nutritional superfoods worth eating because they provide great nutritional value to your body.

Firstly, what are superfoods?

Superfoods are foods that contain high levels of nutrients, minerals and antioxidant content that the body can use to stay healthy. The more you can include them as part of an overall healthy eating lifestyle the better.

You can just add them to meals you already make or enjoy experimenting with them by creating new meals that you and your family with love….

So, here are my three recommended superfoods:

Butternut Squash

Boiled, mashed, and cooked in the oven butternut squash is very high in several nutrients and two in particular – selenium and zinc which help to boost our immunity.  It has become really popular over the last five years and can be a really great substitute for potato.

Almonds

Many people avoid nuts because they think about nuts as being too high in fat to eat but they are full of the good fat that our body needs.  You still need to limit their consumption but they are worth eating.  Eating almond nuts on a regular basis has been shown to lower cholesterol and they are also great for our heart.

Oats

This wonderful Scottish breakfast is still one of the best things you can eat in the morning to get you ready for the day.  Oats are great for improving our resistance to stress, helping our digestive system and stabilising blood sugar levels.

I will share another 3 highly nutritional superfoods worth eating another day as there are many to choose from but those are three that I recommend you find a way to introduce into your life as soon as possible if you don’t eat them already.
